Andrew W. Vail is a first chair litigator who has authored this Guide since its
original edition in 2012. He has extensive litigation experience in federal and state
courts and arbitration, including trying six significant litigation and arbitration
matters to verdict or award in the year and a half leading up to the COVID-19
pandemic.
Andrew is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is annually
named an Illinois “Super Lawyer” and has been named to Illinois’ “Best of the Best”
(top 100 lawyers in the state), among other awards and recognitions. He is also an
active member of the Chicago Bar Association, including serving for multiple years
as the Chair of its Civil Practice Committee. Andrew is an alumni of the Leadership
Greater Chicago (LGC) Signature Fellows Program, Class of 2020. He has a
strong commitment to providing legal services to those in need, and currently
serves as pro bono General Counsel to United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.

Elpitha B. Lambros is an associate in Jenner & Block’s Litigation Department and
a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation group. Elpitha has worked
on a variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts, including defamation
actions, warranty disputes, insurance litigation, and employment litigation. She
was named a Best Lawyers in America “One to Watch” in Commercial Litigat ion in
2021 and 2022. Elpitha served as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras
of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She received
her JD in 2015 from The University of Chicago Law School.
