I. (§2.1) Relevancy
The most-often quoted definition of relevancy in recent years has been the following: “‘The test for relevancy is whether an offered fact tends to prove or disprove a fact in issue or corroborates other relevant evidence.’” In re Calleja, 360 S.W.3d 801, 803 (Mo. App. E.D. 2011) (quoting Brown v. Hamid, 856 S.W.2d 51, 56 (Mo. banc 1993)). This simple definition is too seldom recited to judges and analyzed for judges by lawyers making or responding to a relevancy objection.
